A cycle was sold at a gain of 10%.Had it been sold for Rs. 99 more, the gain would have been 12%. Please find me the cost price of the cycle.

Let the CP of cycle = Rs. x

Gain = 10%

Then,

If the cycle had been sold for Rs. 99 more, then

Gain = 12%

From (I) and (II),

Therefore, the CP of cycle is Rs. 4950.
