For Power dissipated by R ohm resistor to be maximum we will find dP/dt at R ohm
P subscript R o h m end subscript equals fraction numerator d P over denominator d t end fraction
fraction numerator open parentheses R plus 12 close parentheses squared cross times 1 minus 2 open parentheses R plus 12 close parentheses cross times R over denominator open parentheses R plus 12 close parentheses to the power of 4 end fraction equals 0
R equals 12 o h m
Hence the value of r at which it will attain the maxima is at 12 ohm
