In the initial days, the number of soldiers = 1000
After 20 days, the remaining food is suffiecient for = 180 - 20 = 160 days (for 1000 soldiers)
After 20 days, 600 soldiers join.
So, the number of soldiers = 1000 + 600 = 1600
Let the remaining food lasts for x days for 1600 soldiers
1000 : 1600 = x : 160
x = 100
Hence, the remaining food lasts for 100 days.
