when speed of a body is increased by 1/2,what happens to the kinetic energy?Please answer my question in 10 minutes I have a test today.

we know that kinetic energy is proportional to the square ofthe velocity i.e K.E = 1/2 mv2.
so when speed of body is increased by 1/2 then its new velocity becomes 3v/2.
hence its new kinetic energy becomes K.Enew=1/2m(3v/2)2=9/4X1/2mv2.
that is its kinetic energy increases by a fector of 9/4.
