sir why do we get isopropyl benzene on treating benzene with 1-chloropropane instead of n propyl benzene?

Consider the mechanism of the reaction of chloropropane with benzene.

 

 

 

The primary carbocation generated is less stable so it undergoes rearrangement to form stable secondary carbocation which attacks on benzene ring.
