calculate the number of atoms in a cubic unit cell having one atom on each corner and two atoms at each body diagonal. send the answers asked from now on to mchatterjee@gmail.com

A cube has 8 corners and each of which contributes = 1/8
And there are 4 body diagonals in the body
So, therefore, 1 atom at the centre is a part of all the body diagonals and and also atoms at the corners are part of body diagonal.
Therefore, total no. of atoms in a cube=(8×1/8)+(1 atom at the centre)=2 atoms present per cube.
