# a proton and a alpha particle enter a uniform magnetic field with same velocity find the time period of rotation of alpha particle

Mon September 03, 2012
the time period is expressed as:

T=(2?m)/(qB)

thus for the given particles:
for proton:
T1 = (2?m)/(qB)

for alpha particle:
T2 = (2?4m)/(2qB)

thus clearly:

T2 = 2 x T1
