When I took my mobile camera and tried taking a snap of my TV remote pointing towards the lens of the camera with a button in it being pressed,I noticed a white beam of light emerging out from the bulb of the TV remote. These are not visible by naked eyes and were only observed using the mobile camera. What is the reason for this observation.?What kind of rays are involved..?Please explain

TV remote is controlled through LED bulbs emitting infra red light.
Our eyes are insensitive to infrared rays but almost all digital cameras aren't. So if we point a camera (like in our phone) to the remote and push a button, we usually see it lighting up.
