maam i wanted to know that though being a covalent bond graphite conducts electricity.Why?

Graphite conducts electricity because in graphite one carbon atom is bonded to only three other carbon atoms.So one electron is free for each carbon atom.These electron are free to move and are responsible for  conducting the electricity.
