A TREE GROWS 1metre IN AN YEAR, THE FOLLOWING YEARS IT GROWS 50cm LESS LESSER THAN THE PREVIOUS YEAR.FIND THE YEAR IN WHICH IT WILL STOP GROWING?

First term = a = 100 c.m.
Common Difference = d = - 50 
Tn = 0
or     a + (n - 1)d = 0
or    100 + (n - 1)(- 50) = 0
or      2 + (n - 1)(- 1)  = 0 
or      2 - n + 1 = 0
or      - n   =  - 3
or         n  =   3
Therefore it will stop growing in 3rd year
