MAHARASHTRA Class 10: Tests of Similarity of Triangles Videos | Basic criteria for similarity of triangles

If two triangles have their two corresponding sides proportional and an included angle equal, then the triangles are said to be similar by the SAS test. 

AB = AP + PB = 9 cm AC = AQ + QC = 15 cm 

Let AB be the stick and AC be the shadow.

Let DE be the tower and DF be the shadow.

 ∠A = ∠D = 90^o∠C = ∠F … (angle of elevation of the Sun)

 ∆ABC ~ ∆DEF … (AA test) AB = 12 m, AC = 8 m and DF = 40 m
