The displacement of a particle along the x axis is given by x=a sin2 ωt . the motion of the particle corresponds to:

1) simple harmonic motion of frequency 3ω/2

dx/dt = a 2 sin wt coswt = a sin 2wt

d2x/dt2 = a 2 cos 2wt = 2a(1 - 2sin2wt)

This is not a simple harmonic motion.
