As you put north pole of a bar magnet towards a coil and move it towards coil , the face of the coil in front of the north pole become north pole due to induced current in it . Thats why coil repel the bar magnet and we have to do some external work to push the magnet towards the coil, this external work done is stored in the coil in the form of eletrical energy.
If you put south pole of magnet in front of coil and move it towards the coil the front face of col will act as the  south ploe due to induced current in the coil.
