The sum of all the isotopes can be represented by a pie graph.:

 

One pie = all the isotopes.
The isotopes then are pieces of the pie:1 pie, two pieces. 

 

 

The fractional abundance of any two isotopes making up all the known isotopes of an element is ALWAYS x and 1-x, as shown in the “pie” picture.
