2 exactly similar heating resistances are to be used to connect across a main supply to heat some water. Is more heat obtained per minute if they are connected in series or in parallel? Give reasons for your answer.

Resultant resistance in a series combination is greater than any individual resistance, and resultant resistance in a parallel combination is smaller than any individual resistance.
since HR; so more the resistance, more the heat. Therefore, the resistances must be connected in series to obtain more heat per minute.
