Maharashtra Class 9 Answered
Respected Chief Guest, Dear Staff Members and all the Visitors,
Thank you for joining me today in celebrating Hindi Divas in our school. Our institution gives much importance to the celebration of this day. Even though we are an English medium school, we give utmost respect to our mother tongue Hindi as it is our national language.
On 14 September 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India accepted Hindi as the official language of India. Ever since then, the day is celebrated in government offices, schools, colleges and many private organizations. Many nationalized and private banks including corporate sectors in south India celebrate Hindi Diwas Week by writing a specific Hindi word on a whiteboard and describing the meaning and uses of the word.
Hindi is spoken in many countries including Mauritius, Pakistan, Surinam, Trinidad and some other countries. It is the language spoken as a mother tongue by around 258 million people. However, with the economic prosperity and technological development in the country, the Hindi language is losing its importance. Everyone wants to learn and speak English language as it is a global language. However, it is not an impossible task to stray connected to Hindi along with being proficient in English and other languages. The wings of economic development should not dampen our love for our national language.
There is an enormous need to celebrate Hindi Diwas every year so that the future generation understands the significance of the language and the culture associated with it. We should take this opportunity to pledge our commitment to developing this language so that it may serve as a medium of expression for all the cultures of our country.
