why seiving of flour is not consiederd a healthy practice nowadays
Sieving is a process used to separate bran from flour due to different sizes of the grain. In wheat flour, wheat bran is also present. Bran is a rich source of proteins , vitamins , minerals and dietary fibres. It provides roughage and forms an important constituent of food. If the flour is sieved, the bran is lost and hence, the nutritional value of flour is reduced. Hence, sieving of flour is considered as a healthy practice.
