did Buddhism decline in India?

Buddhism gradually declined in India because of the following reasons:
- Hinduism was gradually reformed by various reformers and through various initiatives.
- The Gupta kings patronised Hinduism and provided it state support.
- India was invaded by the Huns several times who destroyed the Buddhist viharas on a large scale.
