answered-by-expert Expert Answer

There was a sizeable chunk of population in England which felt genuinely concerned about the welfare of people in India and her alleged backwardness in societal progress. They wished to see India transform into a modern, progressive nation through the introduction of modern Western education and sweeping social reforms. Those who were of this opinion were known as the ‘radicals’ in England.
