Prime Factorization is finding which prime numbers multiply together to make the original number.
Example: Find the prime factorization of 12.
12 = 2 × 6
     = 2 × 2 × 3
Since 2 and 3 are prime numbers, so we have split 12 into the product of its primes.
So, the prime factorization of 12 is 2 × 2 × 3.
 
Example 2: 
Find the prime factorization of 70.
70 = 7 × 10
     = 7 × 2 × 5
Since 7, 2, and 5 are prime numbers, so we have split 70 into the product of its primes.
So, the prime factorization of 70 is 7 × 2 × 5.
