What is cartilage ?what is the function of it

Cartilage is a part of the skeleton. However, like bones, it is not hard and hence can be bent easily.
It is non-porous, semitransparent and elastic tissue.
Cartilate is present in the nose, external ear, trachea, larynx, ends of the long bones and between the vertebrae.
Function: -
Cartilage smoothens the bone surface at joints, allowing smooth movement of these joints.
