What is a food web? State the significance of food web.

A network of interconnecting food chains in a natural community of different organisms is called a food web.
Significance of food web:
(1) Food webs permit alternative foods.
(2) They ensure a better chance of survival of an organism, in case any of its food source happens to be scarce.
