are Hinayana and Mahayana?

Like Jainism, the faith of Buddhism was also divided into two sects - Hinayana and Mahayana. The Hinayana Buddhists saw Gautam Buddha as a preacher and did not consider him a god. On the other hand, the Mahayana Buddhists worshipped Buddha as a god and reverted to ritualism.
