Expert Answer
Climbers are weak-stemmed plants which cannot grow erect and need a support to grow. In thick forests, there is plenty of support in the form of tall and sturdy trees. Besides, these climbers get sunlight by climbing upwards, as sunlight is not able to penetrate successfully into thick forests. Hence, to carry out photosynthesis, the climbers move upwards rather than spreading on the ground like creepers.
