In physics, thrust is defined as a pushing force applied to an object to make the object to move.
 
when an object of lower density is immersed in liquid of higher density, lower density object experiences upward thrust and the object floats.
 
The design of airplane body is such that when it is flying in air, more air flow in upper surface than lower surface.
Hence pressure is more at lower surface than upper surface and airplane gets upward thrust due to this pressure difference.
