The correct answer is option C.
The Mn has +7 O.S. i.e., it has no d electrons. The colour of KMnO4 is arises from a charge trasfer reaction within the molecule, in which photons promote an electron from the highest energy molecular orbital is one of the Mn-O bonds to an empty d orbital of the mangnese. It meansthe intense pink colour is due to charge transfer when oxygen gives its electrons to Mn making it Mn(+VI).
