Consider a floating object of mass m, volume v and density . Let the volume of the
submerged part of the object in the liquid be   and density of the liquid is . The volume of the liquid displaced by the object is also vi then,
Weight of the object =vg
Weight of the liquid displaced by the solid =

From the law of floatation
Weight  of the object = Weight of the liquid displaced by the solid
