Expert Answer
Most developing nations were undeveloped at the time of independence because while the European nations ruled these nations they also subjected them to colonial exploitation. They enriched themselves at the cost of these countries. This resulted in draining of the resources of these ruled countries. Thus, they were left poverty-stricken or impoverished.
