How does the process of pasteurization help in sterilization of milk? Does it completely sterilize milk?

Pasteurization is a technique of partial sterilization. The milk is heated to a temperature of about 60oC for a period of 30 minutes & then chilled quickly.
No, pasteurization does not sterilize milk completely. Souring bacteria may still be present in it, but by keeping the milk sufficiently cool, their multiplication can be prevented.
