1) Terrace Farming:

- Terrance farming is constructing a series of steps along the hill slope to prevent soil erosion.

- The sides of each step are protected by a stone wall.

- Steps slow down the water runoff and prevent soil from being washed away.

2) Gully Control:

Running water on hill side cause soil erosion resulting in depression called gullies.

Drains are constructed at proper location in order to prevent the widening of gullies.

This reduces water runoff through gullies and thus prevents soil erosion.
