Socrates, known for revolutionising the Greek philosophical scene, lived and taught during the Periclean Age. Socrates propagated his belief that human beings must think freely and behave in a rational fashion. His teachings were popularised on a wide scale by his famous pupil Plato. Plato, in turn, had Aristotle as his pupil. Later on, even Aristotle became a renowned philosopher and taught Emperor Alexander, the Great.
