Active volcanos: Volcanos which have erupted at least once in last 10,000 years are categorised as active volcano. It also include volcanos which have erupted in modern times. Example:Mt. Etna in Itlay.
Dormant volcanos :These are the volcanos which are quiet but might possibly erupt again. Example: Mt. Kilimanjaro in Africa
Extinct volcanos: These are those volcanos which have not erupted in last 10,000 years and are not expected to erupt in near future. Example:Mt. Kulal in Kenya
