Due to population explosion in the labour surplus Indian economy, growth increases the demand for food at a fast rate. As the agricultural sector is producing surplus food grains, inadequate food grains situation will not emerge in India. Thus, the agricultural sector meets the food requirements of an increasing population of the Indian economy. Also, this sector provides fodder to approximately 38 crores of cattle.
