Describe the ziggurats.

The ziggurats built by the Mesopotamianswere temple-towers made of Sun-baked bricks. In appearance, they looked like man-made mountains and had many storeys. They were decorated with tiles, precious stones and marble. Such temple towers were also used as observatories, schools, granaries and trade centres.
