Meteors are particles of rocks which travel in space at the speed of hundreds of kilometres per second. As they enter the Earth’s atmosphere, most of the meteors burn out creating a streak of light in the sky.
Meteors which do not burnt out completely after entering into the Earth’s atmosphere and strike the surface of the Earth are known as Meteorites.
