A block made from a certain material has a mass of 1.35 kg and volume 1.5 x10-3 m3 a. Find the density of block b. Will this block float or sink?  Give reason for your answer.

a. Density of block = Mass / Volume = 1.35 kg /1.5x10-3 m3 = 900 kg m-3

b. The block will float in water. It is because its density 900 kgm-3 is less than density of water (1000 kg m-3).
