         i.            Human poverty is a much wider concept as compared to poverty. Poverty is a term used for an individual who is considered poor if his or her income falls below a given ‘minimum level’. However, human poverty cannot be confined to economic factors only. Therefore, there is a need to broaden the concept of human poverty which includes various other social indicators such as the level of illiteracy, lack of resistance due to mal-nutrition, safe drinking water, job opportunities and sanitation.
