Can you define :- oxidation reaction & saponification reaction

Oxidation means gain of oxygen, loss of hydrogen or loss of electrons.

Reduction means loss of oxygen, gain of hydrogen or gain of electrons.

Saponification is the alkaline hydrolysis of the fatty acid esters. Example: The chemical reaction between any fat and sodium hydroxide is a saponification reaction.
