Ans 1:
During the 1990s major changes took place in terms of democratic transitions for two countries Pakistan and Nepal.
Pakistan made its transition from army rule to democratic system while in Nepal the king gave up his powers and became a constitutional monarch, guided by the elected leaders. However, these transitions were not permanent.
In 1999, General Musharraf took over the country thereby retrieving army rule in Pakistan and in 2005 the new king of Nepal dismissed the elected government along with the political freedom of the people.
