With his initial experiments with satyagraha, Gandhiji attracted many stalwart leaders who later on became major pillars of strength for the national movement. In Bihar, Dr Rajendra Prasad joined Gandhiji in his activities and remained a staunch supporter throughout his life. In Gujarat, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel committed himself to national movement and proved to be an important leader of the national movement as the years progressed.
