begin mathsize 12px style 1 over v plus 1 over u equals 1 over f end style
v = mirror to image distance = 6 cm
u = mirror to object distance = -4 cm
f is focal length

begin mathsize 12px style 1 over f equals 1 over 6 plus fraction numerator 1 over denominator negative 4 end fraction end style
solving for f, we get  f = -12 cm

hence focal lenght is 12 cm
