In a greenhouse, plants which need protection from the cold and chilling weather are grown. This building is made up of glass which traps the heat of the Sun in the house but does not allow the heat to escape back. This increases the temperature of the building.
Similarly, the greenhouse effect is experienced on the Earth when gases like carbon dioxide trap some part of the Sun’s heat coming to the surface of the Earth and does not allow it to escape back into space. This increases the temperature of the Earth. This is known as the greenhouse effect.
