Regeneration is a type of asexual reproduction in which a cut part of the body is regenerated. For example, lizards tail when cut develops a tail. In certain organisms like Hydra and Planaria, the entire organism when faces predator's attack, develops totally into a new organism.

Reproduction is a mechanism in which new offsprings are produced from parents. These include asexual and sexual reproduction. In asexual reproduction, a new individual is produced from single-parent whereas in sexual reproduction two parents are involved and the offspring receives some characters from father as well as the mother.
