Tests for Water
Water can be tested by the verification of any of its physical properties such as boiling point and freezing point.
On adding a few drops of water to white anhydrous copper sulphate, it changes to blue due to formation of hydrated copper sulphate (CuSO4.5H2O). On adding water to blue crystals of cobalt chloride, it turns pink (COCl2.6H2O).
