The radius and height of the cylinder be r and h respectively.
Total surface area of cylinder = 462
2∏r(r + h) = 462  ....(i)
Lateral surface area of cylinder = 1/3 of total surface area of cylinder
2∏rh = 1/3 of 462 = 154  ....(ii)
Dividing (i) by (ii)
(r + h)/h = 3
Solving we get h = r/2
We have
2∏rh = 154 where h = r/2
We get r = 7 cm
hence, h = r/2 = 3.5 cm
Volume of cylinder = ∏r2h = 539 cm2
