Let the present age of Father = x years
the present age of elder son = y
the present age of younger son = y - 4

The sum of the ages of the father and two son is 68.

x + y + y - 4 = 68
→ x + 2y = 72   .... (i)

Accroding to the condition in the question, we get

2x - y + x + x - 4 = 140
→ 4x - y = 144   ... (ii)
Solving (i) and (ii), we get

y = 16, x = 40

Therefore the present age of Father = 40 years
the present age of elder son = 16 years
the present age of younger son = 12 years
