Edith Frank is Anne Frank’s mother. Born as Edith Hollander, she was originally from Aachen in Germany. She came from a wealthy family and married Otto Frank in 1925. Edith’s relationship with Anne was very complicated as Anne never approved of her parenting skills. Anne believes that her mother is very sentimental and critical when she wanted her to be more affectionate and accepting. She is usually the voice of reason and diffuses  fights during their stay at the annexe. Edith dies of starvation in the concentration camp at Auschwitz.
