Causes of global warming are:
- Greenhouse Effect: One of the major causes of global warming is the excess accumulation of the green house gas, carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide traps the heat of the Sun and does not allow part of the heat to go back into space. This has led to an increase in the temperature of the Earth, resulting in global warming.
- Deforestation: Cutting of trees on a large scale has also increased the level of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Trees absorb carbon dioxide and maintain the fertility of the soil. Therefore, the destruction of forest covers on a large scale result in global warming.
- Indiscriminate Burning of the Fossil Fuels: The burning of fossil fuels like coal and petroleum release large amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which has also resulted in global warming.
