Describe the Milky Way galaxy.

Milky Way galaxy is the galaxy to which earth belongs. It is a spiral galaxy. Its hindu name is Akash Ganga.
When it is viewed from above, the stars seem to be arranged in spiral arms that emerge from the nucleus (centre) of the galaxy.
The Milky Way extends to about 1,00,000 light years.
