Aluminium container is used to carry Niric acid

In the presence of conc. HNO3, Al becomes passive, due to a thin protective layer of its oxide (Al2O3), which is formed on its surface and prevents further action between the metal and the acid. Therefore Al containers can be used for storing conc. HNO3.
